Toughened glass is made from annealed glass via a thermal tempering process as "safety glass. " Self-explosion is easy for tempered glass, while semi-tempered glass is easier to avoid the phenomenon.
The way to avoid self-explosion of tempered glass: Heat soak test (hot-dipping test or igniting test). HST (Heat Soak Test), which is also called hot-dipping test or igniting test, refers to the method of re-heat-treatment after armoring. It is a method to avoid self-explosion effectively. The possibility of self-explosion can also be avoided by choosing original good-quality float sheet glass, improve the pretreatment quality and control surface stress, etc.
Tempered glass can be with holes or cutouts/hinges/grooves/notch and polished edges, beveled edges, chamfered edges or grinding edges, then processed into tempered laminated glass, tempered insulated glass, etc.
Considering the characteristics of toughened glass skylight, glass size should be confirmed before making production. Once tempered glass size is confirmed, it can not be made mechanical treatment any more, and otherwise it will be broken.
